Mission & Vision

Love where you learn.

Located in Metairie, Louisiana, J.C. Ellis Elementary is a high-performing Pre K – 8 school with approximately 700 students. We offer Spanish and French Immersion.

Our highly-rated Immersion program provides an opportunity for students to become bi-lingual. The French and Spanish immersion programs develop student proficiency in a second language while providing a foundation in fundamentals of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, health, physical education and cultural arts programs. The program fosters an understanding of and an appreciation for Louisiana’s cultures and those of other areas and countries. We also offer special education classes for students with learning difficulties. We are a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) School, which leads to a common culture of expectations.

Our faculty and staff is a dedicated group of educators who continually study the best instructional practices and go above and beyond to meet students’ needs. Classroom teachers and administrators meet on a weekly basis to align curriculum, review student achievement data, make improvements and give feedback on the progress of various educational programs. We have an active and supportive Ellis Parent Organization.

Ellis Elementary Vision Statement:

We are commited to raising academic achievement by setting high expectations and delivering high-quality instruction based on every child's unique abilities in a safe, nurturing environment.  It is the right of every child, regardless of his or her background. It is our responsibility as educators to ensure that every student has access to a robust and challenging curriculum.

Ellis Elementary Mission:

Excellent Instruction for every student in every classroom every day.
